Sound plays a key part in the virtual reality (VR) experience. It’s essential to securing the true feeling of presence, making sure that players aren’t at odds with what they’re seeing and what they’re hearing. Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) has acknowledged this with the development of its Project Morpheus VR headset for PlayStation 4, and will talk about the challenges during its Audio Keynote at the 2014 Develop Conference.
Headed up by SCE’s Garry Taylor, the session will discuss a range of audio-based topics including 3D audio and its use with VR headsets. The session starts at 17:00 BST and VRFocus will be there to live blog the event.
