For any virtual reality (VR) enthusiasts and developers planning attending this year’s Gamescom on 13th – 17th August, the Cologne VR Meetup is planning an event just for you. The group has revealed that it will be hosting its third Meetup on the last day of the event, 17th August, and will be running a special competition for developers to take part in. Those interested can RSVP now via the group’s official Meetup page.
The third Cologne VR Meetup will run a VR Slam competition. To take part, developers must sign up for the event and submit a short pitch to the board with either a demo or video or their project. The deadline for submissions is 11th August, so developers wanting to take part should act fast.
Meetup members will then be able to vote on five of the submitted projects. The top fives titles will then be awarded a 7 minute slot to pitch their titles to Meetup attendees at the event itself. Following a demoing session, which will include every developer’s videogames, a winner will be chosen. The first place prize will win a digital copy of upcoming VR compatible videogame SUPERHOT with a digital artbook, soundtrack and beta access along with early beta access and an in-game appearance in Iris VR’s upcoming Technolust.
The Cologne VR Meetup 3 will take place at Startplatz, Im Mediapark 5, Köln, Cologne, Germany and get underway at 20:00 CEST. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all updates in the VR industry, bringing you the latest.
