Indie developer PHL Collective has released a unique new virtual reality (VR) experience this week. The vidoegame, simply named NIB, has been posted for free over on the Oculus VR Share Beta and comes complete with support for the Oculus Rift VR headset on PC. There’s currently no word on possible Mac or Linux versions of the experience.
“NIB is an experimental piece where players feel alone in an abstract world,” the developer wrote to describe the experience. “We were asked to play on themes like loneliness, sensory deprivation and assaulting visuals.” As the images in this post reveal, the title contains a range of vibrant imagery
The title has been showed off at exhibits where players sit in an elevated chair, hung from a ceiling, and take in the experience, which presents a range of surreal visual elements. It’s not clear if the developer intends to take the project any further, though it’s certainly an intriguing prospect. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, bringing you the latest one them.
