Bossa Studios, the indie developer behind the immensely popular Surgeon Simulator 2013, has teased that it will be making an announcement at E3 2014 tomorrow, 10th June. The company hasn’t confirmed if this will be a new videogame or perhaps something else. The developer has previously confirmed to VRFocus that it has a virtual reality (VR) dedicated videogame in the works, though also has several other projects in development for ‘traditional devices’. A video teaser for an announcement can also be seen below.
“Remember! E3 announcement from @bossastudios tomorrow,” studio co-founder Imre Jele posted on Twitter earlier today.
Studio co-founder and Gamer-In-Chief Henrique Olifiers confirmed to VRFocus that it had a videogame that has been ‘think of VR since day 1’ in an interview in May 2014.
“We are working on a project right now that we’ve thought of VR since day one,” Olifiers said. “So that is the one that we are trying to do right. All the other games we have we are doing the traditional way for traditional devices and so on. Especially because we are not even consumer level yet, right? We cannot just walk into PC World and buy a VR headset yet.”
Surgeon Simulator 2013 was made compatible with the Oculus Rift VR headset on PC. Could tomorrow serve as the reveal for its new VR project or something else? VRFocus will follow the studio closely and bring you the latest.
