Indie developer Tammeka has revealed that its upcoming sci-fi racer Radial-G will be heading to the VR Brighton Meetup this month, bringing with it the same two-player demo that it debuted at the end of May 2014. The event takes place on 11th June and will also feature the likes of My Neighbour Totoro VR developer Nick Pittom along with a range of demos running on the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.
Sam Watts, 3D producer on Radial-G confirmed that the title would be at the event via Twitter. Iestyn Lloyd, the organiser behind VR Brighton described the experience as ‘one of the best’ VR titles that he’s played so far, encouraging attendeess to try it out. In Lloyd’s words the title resmembles a VR Wipeout, referencing PlayStation’s own sci-fi racing franchise. The demo pits racers against each other and can be played with the Oculus Rift VR headset.
Right now there isn’t much information on Radial-G, other than that it takes the form of a futuristic racer being developed by ex-Black Rock Studios and NCsoft developers. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and report back with any more updates on its progress.
