Indie development studio Team Junkfish continue to drip-feed new details on Monstrum, an in-development horror title designed for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD). The latest reveal from the studio is a series of new screenshots that show the addition of new light sources.
Monstrum is a horror title in which the player has a singular goal: escape. Trapped on a large ship out at sea, the player must explore the area and find the equipment required to repair their life raft before taking to the waters. However, they are being pursued the whole time. A beast far greater in size and strength is lurking; only ever a loud noise or unfortunate encounter with an alarm system away. While the player cannot engage the enemy in direct combat, they are able to use traps to cause disruption to it’s predatory tactics. Monstrum is a videogame about cunning and perseverance.
The images below depict the upper deck of the vessel upon which the action takes place. In addition to the new light sources, new pipes, vents, sockets, cupboards and general geometry have been added to the walls and ceiling. New details on Monstrum continue to flow and VRFocus will keep you updated with all the latest from Team Junkfish.
