Despite announcing a range of new hires last week, Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset maker Oculus VR has revealed another huge appointment today. Jason Rubin, founder of legendary PlayStation developer Naughty Dog and former president of THQ has come on board with the company as head of worldwide studios.
“The team at Oculus has been working to push the boundaries of what’s possible with hardware and software,” Rubin said of the appointment. “I’m excited to bring together a new division dedicated to building high-quality VR content that helps define the platform and inspire others to do the same.”
Rubin will be working on Oculus VR first-party content initiatives across all of the company’s US-based offices, including Seattle, San Francisco, Menlo Park, Dallas and Irvine. It wasn’t specified as to if this means Oculus VR could be developing its very own videogames in-house. VRFo
