Indie developer Soonsoon has released a unique new virtual reality (VR) videogame on PC. The experience, titled Moon Rabbit Defense, is a first-person action title and is available to download for free over on the Oculus VR Share Beta on PC. It features full compatibility with the Oculus Rift VR headset. There currently isn’t any word on possible Mac or Linux versions of the title.
Moon Rabbit Defense boasts a simple premise mixed with an entertaining art style. Players are placed on the moon and must survive 10 different waves of attacking mechanical rabbits. Pink rabbits rush at players with melee attacks while green ones fire balls which they must avoid. Players use an enlarged mallet to fight back against the hordes, which grow in number with each passing wave.
The developer explained that the title is simply a test bed for developing with the Oculus Rift, although hasn’t yet confirmed any projects that might come from it. VRFocus will continue to follow any and all applications of VR, bringing you the latest on the technology.
