Indie developer Mad Games has released a new set of images for its upcoming debut virtual reality (VR) horror experience, Sofia. The images, which can be seen below, are compiled from a range of recent Facebook updates on the title, which is set to feature full support for the Oculus Rift VR headset. They offer a closer look at the videogame’s environments taken from the titular taken of Sofia.
The final title will appear in black and white, though here the developer has offered a comparison with some coloured pictures too. Both indoor and outdoor environments can be see, with the protagonist holding a torch to light the way forward in once image. The goes back and forth between past and present, with the town always under snowfall in the former and rainfall in the latter. Both effects can be seen in the images.
Sofia tasks players with exploring its town, uncovering notes and clues as to why it is abandoned. The developer is yet to offer any details on the horror element of the title as well as set a date for its release. VRFocus will continue to follow Sofia’s development and report back with any more updates.
