Untold Games has labelled Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset for PlayStation 4 as ‘amazing’. The studio’s creative director Flavio Parenti said as much during a presentation for the upcoming Loading Human at this week’s MCM London Comic Con. Parenti stated that the team was excited for SCE to help bring VR to a mainstream audience along with Oculus Rift makers Oculus VR.
“It’s amazing,” Parenti said when asked about Project Morpheus during Resero‘s presentation. When asked if he was excited to see a new platform help bring VR to the mainstream he replied: “Are you kidding? Yeah.”
“I think virtual reality is a completely new media,” he explained. “You tried it, you know what we’re talking about. It’s something completely, completely new. You would never experience it if not that way. It reminds me a bit of the movies of the beginning of the century where people were running away from the train that was coming because they thought it was real because their brain wasn’t ready to see a moving image actually coming to them. That’s what you get here; our brain isn’t ready for virtual reality. We haven’t grown up with virtual reality. So for us, as soon as you get inside this reality it’s mind-blowing.”
Currently Loading Human is ‘concept approved’ for PlayStation 4. It’s not confirmed that a port from the PC, Mac and SteamOS versions will happen, though the team certainly seems enthusiastic about the idea. The title recently passed a Kickstarter campaign. VRFocus will continue to follow Loading Human’s progress and report back with any more updates.
