Upcoming indie title SUPERHOT has already passed its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign just as it begins its second day of funding with over 4,400 pledges. The title successfully raised $100,000 USD to fund development of the title, which will support the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. The campaign still has until 14th June 2014 to raise even more money, with the team confirming yesterday that it will introduce stretch goals soon.
“Once we get closer to the goal we’ll be announcing first stretch goals for the campaign – we’re pretty positive that you’ll really like them,” read a previous blog post that noted that the campaign had reached over half of its funding in just 7 hours.
SUPERHOT is a first-person shooter (FPS) in which time will move only when players themselves move. This creates a unqiue puzzle-based experience in which players must dodge bullets and figure how to reach eneimes, arm themselves and take them down. Oculus Rift support will allow players to dodge bullets in front of them and more. The Kickstarter campaign will bolster the title’s development with new enemies, weapons, modes and more.
VRFocus will report back as soon as the developers reveal the next stage of SUPERHOT’s campaign.
