Retroburn Games, the studio behind upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible title Positron has released a new demo for the sci-fi racing title. Available from the videogame’s official website, the demo is the same version that the developer has been showing off at the recent Update Show and Play Blackpool events in the UK. This version is available only to PC players, though the full title will also release for Mac and Linux with support for the Oculus Rift VR headset.
The sample shows off the title’s medium speed bike, which players race in a randomly selected maze. The developers revealed that they had received some ‘great feedback’ based on what they had shown to those that attended the events. The team is now working to get the title ready for release on PC, Mac and Linux, adding some new features, fixing rendering issues and updating the GUI. A mobile release on both iOS and Android is expected to follow afterwards.
Positron is a sci-fi racing experience in which players navigate through neon mazes on futuristic bikes similar to those seen in the Tron franchise. Players are set against the clock as they race towards the finish line. The title offers a range of modes and vehicles for players to experiment with. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and report back with all the latest updates.
