Loading Human Dev ‘Confident that porting to PS4 won’t be that hard.’

Untold Games’ Loading Human has been in the public eye for a quite some time now. Having first been revealed back in January of this year, available for press previews shortly thereafter and subsequently winning awards at Game Connection in March, to say that anticipation for the title was riding high would be an understatement. Untold Games were obviously aware of this at the launch of their Kickstarter campaign earlier this week, revealing that the development had switched to Unreal Engine 4 and that a PlayStation 4 version was also on the cards.

At the time of writing, the PlayStation 4 edition of Loading Human – intended to be compatible with the forthcoming Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) device – is not in active development. The videogame is being built for PC first, with Oculus Rift support, and will follow on PlayStation 4 at an unspecified date. However, Untold Games are not expecting there to be any major hold-ups in the development process.

“We had the confirmation about the existence of Sony’s VR headset at GDC like everyone else, but we had already been in touch with SCEE. They are very friendly with developers and we had been able to show them an early demo of Loading Human,” reveals Flavio Parenti, Creative Director for Loading Human, in a question and answer (Q&A) session with VRFocus. “Once Project Morpheus was confirmed, we were ready to submit the concept for approval.”

“We haven’t worked with the [Project] Morpheus headset yet. However, we are confident that the porting to [PlayStation 4] using the Unreal Engine 4 won’t be that hard.” Parenti Concludes.

Loading Human is an adventure videogame that plays on the established ruleset of the point-n’-click genre. However, thanks to the VR technology at it’s disposal, the puzzles featured in the videogame won’t be abstract representations of real-world activities but instead make use of intuitive human gestures and processes. You can fins out more about Loading Human on the videogame’s official Kickstarter page and VRFocus will bring you the full Q&A with Parenti next week.
