The Hum has been greenlit!” the developer wrote in a Greenlight update. “I am so happy for this, I cannot just thank enougth [sic] all you for the support with this game that we make with lots of effor and passion.”

The Hum is being developed with Epic Game’s Unreal Engine 4, featuring a ‘strong focus’ on the Oculus Rift headset. It is a single-player, story-driven experience in which players are cast as a survivor of a devastating alien invasion that has forced humans into hiding. The protagonist has successfully evaded the aliens for a number of months but is now starting to wake up with new memories and abilities. Players must use stealth mechanics to hide from enemies as they search for them.

The Hum hopes to release in last three months of 2014. It is not yet clear if the title will see a crowd-funding campaign or head straight to release. VRFocus will continue to follow The Hum‘s progress and report back with any more updates.
