The early access version of upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible title The Forest has suffered a slight delay. Developer Endnight Games revealed as much this week, stating that the title would now arrive on 30th May 2014 having originally been planned for 22nd May. The team also offers a range of new animated GIFs for the title, which can be seen below. The title will support the Oculus Rift VR headset, though this won’t be available at first.
“We are releasing this month!” the developer revealed in a Facebook post. “A couple days later than our target date to fix some last minute issues. We’re going to be out on May 30th! We’re really excited about the release, it’s going to be awesome. ”
The 5 GIFs offer a look at the title’s impressive visuals. There’s a glimpse of the plane crash that strands players in the wilderness, as well as a few images of the wildlife that can be found in the experience. The Forest is a first-person survival title in which players build their own settlements, eventually having to defend it from horrific monsters.
VRFocus will continue to follow The Forest‘s progress and report back with all the latest updates.
