Fire Panda’s Last Ghibli VR Demo No Longer Based on Howl’s Moving Castle

Fire Panda developer Nick Pittom has confirmed to VRFocus that he will no longer be adapting Howl’s Moving Castle for his final Studio Ghibli virtual reality (VR) project. The developer revealed that he is changing the project after another fan confirmed that he had already begun development on another piece based on the film. Pittom had originally said that he would adapt the kitchen environment from that piece.

Howls Moving Castle will not be the last demo…” Pittom wrote on Twitter, “Still deciding, but it won’t be that.”

He then contacted VRFocus, stating: “Some other fellow let me know he’s been working on a Howls demo for a couple of weeks or so, so I’ll do something else.”

It would seem that whatever Pittom does decided on will still be his last Studio Ghibli project, then. After it is completed, the developer intends to move on to developing his first full videogame, titled Decay Theory. He detailed the project last week, revealing that it would be exclusive to VR. VRFocus will continue to follow the developer’s progress and report back with all the latest.
