EVE Valkyrie has received a great deal of coverage from VRFocus over the past few weeks due to a commendable outing at EVE Fanfest 2014, and that train is not likely to be derailed anytime soon. As the poster child for virtual reality (VR) videogaming it’s important to present a realistic image of the difficulties faced in developing the title and the path that it’s taking to get to market. Lead Programmer Sigurdur ‘Siggi’ Gunnarsson doesn’t shy away from either of these aspects when it comes to EVE Valkyrie.
One of the founding two members of the EVE Valkyrie development team, working with Rob Clarke on what was originally known as EVE VR, Siggi spoke with VRFocus at EVE Fanfest 2014. Clearly enthusiastic about the technology and the responsibility that comes with developing one of the first high-profile releases for VR, Siggi takes the conversation far beyond EVE Valkyrie and into the ideals behind VR in general. The full interview can be seen below and VRFocus will bring you much more on EVE Valkyrie this week.
