The developer behind the upcoming massively multiplayer first-person shooter (MMOFPS) Beasts of Prey has confirmed that the title is due to release within the ‘first 2 weeks of June 2014’. According to the team the virtual reality (VR) compatible experience ‘looks much better’ than it did just weeks ago and is on course for the release. It’s set to launch with full support for the Oculus Rift VR headset on PC, Mac and Linux.
“The game looks much better now, runs faster and got a lot of new content added,” the developer revealed on the title’s Steam Greenlight page. “However we are still working on bugfixes and little annoyances. To find these we are playing with a small group internally now and based on their feedback we are fixing code and changing mechanics.”
The team also revealed that it had ordered a set of servers and are now prepparing them to host the game-world. “We will keep you updated about the progress and you will hopefully soon find this game in the steam store…” the post concluded.
Beasts of Prey is a dinosaur-based MMOFPS in which players survive in a world populated with other players and dinosaurs. They can build their own settlements and forge alliances with other players, crafting better weaponry along the way. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and report back with all the latest updates.
