Norwegian indie developer Krillbite Studios has finally released its anticipated first-person horror experience, Among The Sleep, on PC, Mac and Linux via Steam. It launches just over a year after the project was successfully funded on Kickstarter, raising $248,358 USD and arrives with full support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. The title is priced at £14.99 GBP with a free PC demo also available.
Among the Sleep casts players as a two year old child that explores his house and beyond after hearing strange noises in the middle of the night. It focuses on atmosphere and exploration, opting out of other mechanics such as combat. Players are accompanied by an animated toy bear as they venture through dark, imaginative environments. The developer has also revealed that it hopes to get Kickstarter backer codes out today too.
The title is also due for release on PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus VR headset, though there isn’t any word on when that version will launch right now. VRFocus will be delivering a full review of Among the Sleep in the near future and will keep you up to date with all the latest news on the videogame.
