Upcoming non-combat massively multiplayer title Wander has officially been Greenlit on Steam. The experience will now be available for sale directly from Valve’s digital storefront come release, which the developer hopes will be in the third quarter of 2014. Wander is an exploration-based MMO which focuses on exploration over competition, and will be coming with full support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset on PC.
In Wander players start life as a walking tree. They explore the tropical environment around them, working with other players they might find along the way. Storms affect both you and the environment around you, allowing you to morph into 5 different types of character. In total, the title stretches out across a 64 square kilometre area.
A PlayStation 4 version of the title is also due out, though support for the Project Morpheus VR headset is currently unconfirmed. It will however feature support for the Razer Hydra motion controller on PC. A beta for Wander is now available through the official website. VRFocus will continue to follow the title and report back with all the latest.
