True Player Gear has revealed a new image of its upcoming virtual reality (VR) headset, the Totem. The image, seen below, provides a first look at a 3D printed version of the device, which is set to work with PC, Mac and Linux as well as the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The company also revealed that good progress was being made on the headset’s development, with pre-order plans currently being finalised.
“Things are progressing well,” the company wrote in an update to accompany the image. “In the last two weeks we had good advancement porting head tracking code from our last prototype and writing new MIPI code to display on the screen. We’re also finalizing financial planning for pre-orders.”
The company also revealed that it would be showing off the Totem on a TV show in Quebec, Canada on Friday 2nd May 2014 . The footage will hopefully be supplied online at a later date. A firm release date for the device is yet to be supplied. VRFocus will continue to follow the Totem’s progress as it develops and report back with all the latest details.
