IRIS VR’s TECHNOLUST has reached its first stretch goal on its Kickstarter campaign, having achieved its base funding goal at the start of the week. The title raised over $35,000 USD to unlock an original score for the experience, which is exclusive to the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. The next goal, placed at $40,000, promises to include support for the Sixense STEM motion controller.
TECHNOLUST is first-person experience inspired by the likes of Blade Runner and Robocop. Players are cast as a citizen of a futuristic city in which corporations have assumed control of key technologies such as cheap 3D printing and fully immersive VR. Its story will see players join a resistance against these corporations, while on the side they can interact with the environment, watching movies at home and playing videogames at arcades.
At the time of writing the title’s funding sits at $35,346 with 11 days to go before the campaign’s conclusion on 11th May 2014. VRFocus will continue to follow TECHNOLUST‘s development and report back with all the latest news.
