IRIS VR’s cyberpunk virtual reality (VR) experience, TECHNOLUST, has launched its demo onto the official Oculus VR Share Beta. The title is now available to download for free over on the Oculus Rift VR headset maker’s website and is compatible with the device. It is available on PC, Mac and Linux and comes with support for keyboard and mouse controls as well as gamepads and the Razer Hydra motion controller.
The TECHNOLUST demo takes inspiration from sci-fi media such as Blade Runner. Players are placed into a futuristic apartment and can explore various rooms filled with pop culture references and more. The title recently achieved its Kickstarter funding goal of $30,000 CAD with more than a week of funding left on the clock. The aim of the campaign was to fund to full title, which will expand to allow users to explore and interact with the outside world and complete a story campaign.
It now hopes to raise additional cash to meet a range of stretch goals, including the likes of support for the Sixense STEM motion controller.
TECHNOLUST passed its Steam Greenlight campaign less than 2 days after it launched on 15th April 2014. Developer Blair Renaud spoke to VRFocus about the reception to the demo last week. VRFocus will continue to follow all the latest on the title and report back with any more details.
