Little Green Men Games’ virtual reality (VR) compatible space title, Starpoint Gemini 2, has received a new beta update that adds new content and upgrades. The title, which is currently available through Steam’s Early Access program, now boasts an extra mission and has had a few bugs fixed including issues with dialog panels and ship assembly. The title supports VR with the Oculus Rift headset.
The new mission is a Freelance type titled ‘Smuggle’. The developer didn’t go into the detail about the mission, though the name should give you some ideas of what to do. Wormholes have also had a visual and physics overhaul, while particle effects have been added to ships when being damaged. Heavy weapons can now force others to drop power to engines and users can no longer dock on hostile stations and planets.
Starpoint Gemini 2 entered beta during the Game Developers Conference 2014 in March. The developers are aiming to release the title in the second quater of this year on Steam. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with all the latest.
