Oculus VR has confirmed that it will be showing off its recently revealed second developer kit (DK2) for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset at PAX East in Boston, Massachusetts this weekend. The latest version of the headset will be on display at booth 234. A number of other Oculus Rift supported titles will be dotted around the show floor, though these will likely be using the original DK1 set.
“In Boston this weekend for @Official_PAX East? Come by booth 234 and check out DK2!” read a post from Oculus VR’s Twitter account.
The DK2 set makes a number of improvements over the original DK1 Oculus Rift. The two most prominent features are the new 1080p OLED display, allowing for low latency head tracking and positional tracking that allows software to register a user’s head moving up, down, forwards, backs or side to side. The kit is available for pre-order now and will start shipping out in July 2014.
PAX East is set to run from 11th – 13th April. VR titles such as Darknet and SoundSelf will also be on display at the show. VRFocus will continue to report on both the Oculus Rift and its supported experiences leading up to the eventual consumer release of the device.
