Upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible adventure experience XING: The Land Beyond has received a fresh batch of screenshots this week. Developer White Lotus Interactive release a pile of new images for the first-person experience in support of news that it was switching development to Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 4. The developer reasoned that the transition to the new engine would allow for assured integration with the Oculus Rift VR headset when the title launches.
The screenshots, which can be seen below, offer a new look at the title running in Unreal Engine 4. As the developer wrote in its original blog, the transition has allowed the team to push the title’s visuals even further, with better lighting and high resolution textures among other elements. The switch has already improved workflow and speed of development.
The images give us a look at the title’s rainforest environments, with a look at both daytime and nighttime lighting and rain effects. VRFocus will continue to follow the development of XING: The Land Beyond and report back with all the latest.
