Virtual reality (VR) focused developer nDreams has confirmed that its upcoming ‘major’ VR title to be revealed at this year’s E3 event in June will be ‘cross-platform VR’. That means it will be coming to both Sony Computer Entertainment’s (SCE) Project Morpheus headset and the Oculus Rift headset for PC. The news was confirmed along with press release that announced former SEGA CEO Mike Hayes’ appointment on the company’s board.
“Since mid-2013, nDreams have been focusing heavily on virtual reality, and will be revealing and demoing their first cross-platform VR game at E3 2014,” the boiler plate text reads, after confirming that the developer is working on both Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift titles. There are currently very few VR titles confirmed for both headsets, with CCP Games’ EVE Valkyrie becoming the first when it was revealed for Project Morpheus during SCE’s reveal event at the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC).
Just what the title will be is yet to be revealed. E3 2014 runs from 10th – 12th June, though the developer hasn’t said at what point of the show it will announce its project. VRFocus will continue to follow nDream’s progress leading up to the event and report back with all the latest.
