Monstrum developers Team Junkfish has confirmed that it may develop sequels and expansions to its upcoming title. Creative director Adam Dart confirmed as much to VRFocus during an interview at the EGX Rezzed event in Birmingham last March. Dart stated that, if people enjoyed the horror experience in virtual reality (VR), then there could be more to come down the line.
“If people enjoy horror on VR I guess we may think about pursuing it in the future as well,” Dart revealed when asked about the future of the developer, “and maybe doing sequels or expanding on Monstrum as a game by itself.”
Monstrum is a first-person horror experience that comes with support for the Oculus Rift VR headset. The title tasks players with escaping a derelict ship whilst being pursued by a monster. It is a procedurally developed experience, meaning the ship’s layout will change at the start of each new playthrough.
Team Junkfish has previously confirmed that it would be interested in bringing Monstrum to the PlayStation 4 with support for the Project Morpheus VR headset. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s progress and be bringing the full interview with Dart in the near future.
