Indie developer Steamburger Studios has announced that it’s upcoming first-person shooter Let’s Go Camping! will receive support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset should it pass its Kickstarter campaign. The campaign hopes to raise $45,000 USD before 3rd May 2014. The title has also launched as Steam Greenlight effort where it hopes to secure enough community votes to launch on Valve’s digital storefront come full release.
Let’s Go Camping! is described as an FPS roguelike dungeon crawler, developed by ex-BioWare staffer Brian Mayberry and ex-Trion Worlds developer Randy Wilson. Players are dropped into an open world with temples, caves and dungeons to explore and loot, armed with a bow and arrow. Players set up camps to eat food and sleep to help survive. The bow and arrow combat is entirely physics-based, with players squaring off with a range of enemies. It boasts a unique flat shaded art style.
Should it pass its Kickstarter campaign then Let’s Go Camping! hopes to launch its Alpha/Beta in 2015 for PC, Mac and Linux. Interested players can pledge $10 to grab a digital copy of the title, which suggests that it will release in June next year. VRFocus will continue to follow Let’s Go Camping! and report back with all the latest news.
