Kickstarter Launched for FPS Trapped! Includes VR Stretch Goal

Indie developer Bad Touch Studios has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its upcoming first-person shooter, Trapped! The project is looking to raise $15,000 USD by 3rd May 2014 in order to fund development of the title. Should the campaign surpass both this and a stretch goal of $60,000 then the team will implement support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. The title is aiming to release in March 2015 on PC, Mac and Linux.

Trapped_1Trapped! casts players as Alan Thorgon, who survives an attack on his town of St. Louis, Missouri by stowing away on a nearby colony spaceship. The vessel escorts Thorgon to the planet of AC3, where he uncovers a strange alien sculpture before being kidnapped. Not much has been shared about how the title will play out, although a brief glimpse at the footage suggests it will have a focus on exploration.

The $60,000 stretch goal is preceded by a $30,000 one to hire more programmers and 3D artists as well as a $45,000 one to port the title to smartphone operating systems. Fans can pledge $10 to pick up a digital copy of the title, while $10,000 will net you producer credits, 2 signed copies of the title.

VRFocus will continue to follow the progress of Trapped! and bring you all the latest.
