Japanese developer Up-Frontier has released a new virtual reality (VR) project named Dino Town. The experience, which is available for free on the Oculus VR Share Beta, is also on display at the Asagaya Anime Street in Tokyo, Japan. It is available for both PC and Mac, with support for both keyobard and mouse and gamepads.
Without much in the way of an English translation, little is known about Dino Town, although the only image of the title and a brief page description give the general idea. “What if the dinosaur came back to life in the present time?” the page reads. The accompanying image shows a dinosaur standing in a present day town, though it doesn’t seem to be anywhere specific, given the generic titles of the surrounding shops.
It’s not clear if Dino Town is an actual videogame or a simple virtual tour showcasing VR technology. It has been referred to as a demonstration, which suggests the latter. VRFocus will continue to follow VR projects such as this and bring them to you.
