Developer CCP Games has released the schedule for its upcoming EVE Fanfest 2014 in Reykjavik, Iceland from 1st – 3rd May. The show has plenty of speeches and panels for each of its titles, including PlayStation 3 first-person shooter Dust 514 and, of course, its enduring EVE Online massively multiplayer title. But the there’s also a wealth of events for the latest addition to the developer’s line-up, EVE: Valkyrie, and the virtual reality (VR) technology it supports.
Things kick off on Thursday, 1st May with an EVE: Valkyrie Keynote that promises to talk about the past, present and future of the multiplayer space combat title, starting at 18:00. Then on Friday at 12:00 is a ‘Virtual Reality (VR) Game Design’ roundtable with the developers discussing developing for the technology. Also on Friday at 16:00 is an ‘Art of Valkyrie‘ event looking at how to design an EVE title in first-person.
12:00 on Saturday hosts a panel titled ‘Making EVE: Valkyrie a Full Game’ on transforming the title from a small demo into a full commerical product. There’s also a 15:00 roundtable on ‘The Birth of a Valkyrie‘, exploring the EVE: Valkyrie‘s origins. The title will also feature in the CCP Presents show with CEO Hilmar Veigar at 17:00 the same day.
There’s certainly a lot on for the PC and PlayStation 4-bound title, then. EVE: Valkyrie is exclusive to VR headsets, using both the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus devices. The experience is yet to receive a full release date, though it does hope to launch with the consumer version of the Oculus Rift. VRFocus will continue to follow EVE: Valkyrie‘s progress and report back with all the latest.
