The developer behind the upcoming massively mutliplayer first-person shooter dinosaur experience Beasts of Prey has launched a Steam Greenlight campaign for the title. The team hopes to secure enough positive votes to have the title approved for sale on Valve’s digital store come full release. The experience is set to launch with full support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.
Beasts of Prey mixes elements of survival titles with FPS gameplay. Players start out with a combat knife and must gather resources to craft new items and eventually build structures such as houses and factories. The title is a sandbox experience, meaning what players do with their time and who they fight is completely up to them. Alliances can be formed and towns and cities can be built, all with dinosaurs roaming the land.
The title is hoping to launch in either the second or third quarter of 2014, placing its release at roughly a year from now. An Early Access phase of development is planned for those that want to help test the title before full release. VRFocus will continue to follow all the latest surrounding Beasts of Prey and bring it you.
