Upcoming survival horror first-person shooter Death In Candlewood has launched a Steam Greenlight campaign. The title hopes to secure enough positive votes for sale on Valve’s digital store. A Kickstarter campaign for the title, developed by Rosebud Games, is now entering its final week, with just under $50,000 USD to go before reaching its $60,000 target to enable full time development of the project.
“The game will definitely be coming out on PC,” the Greenlight page notes, “and Rosebud Games also intend to publish it on Mac and Linux shortly afterwards pending a successful Kickstarter campaign. If it goes exceedingly well, you might just be able to experience the eerie, terrifying atmosphere of Death In Candlewood first-hand through Oculus Rift too, and beyond.”
‘Exceedingly well’ refers to the $100,000 stretch goal that will add support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. As the team at Rosebud Games told VRFocus, a PlayStation 4 version of the experience could happen, although it would be up to Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE). VRFocus will continue to follow Death In Candlewood as its Kickstarter heads towards the finish and report back with all the latest.
