The first teaser trailer for Rosebud Games’ upcoming title Death In Candlewood has hit. The brief clip, which can be seen below showcases the first look at the survival horror first-person shooter in action. It hits just as the title’s Kickstarter campaign enters its final week, with the team hoping to raise $60,000 USD before 2nd May 2014. At the time of writing, the funding sits at just over $11,200. The title comes with a stretch goal for Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset compatibility.
“It’s still a work in progress and we’ve not forgotten your concerns about framerates – this is not final product stuff,” the developer said of the trailer in a Kickstarter update, “but we thought we’d let you have a sneak peek of the gameplay as it stands. Let us know what you think! There’s much more where this came from, so stay tuned.”
Death In Candlewood is an FPS inspired by the works of Edgar Allan Poe. Players step into the shoes of Ray Rune, who is on a quest to find his adopted son in the Candlewood Mountains. The team behind the title is comprised of developers with experience on franchises like Silent Hill, The Witcher and F.E.A.R. The developer has expressed interest in bringing the experience to PlayStation 4 with Project Morpheus support.
VRFocus will continue to follow Death In Candlewood‘s progress as the Kickstarter campaign comes to its conclusion.
