Silicon Valley Virtual Reality (SVVR) and San Francisco Virtual Reality (SFVR) are teaming up to throw a special VR event at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco this week. The pair are hosting a GDC VR Mixer, a social event located a few blocks away from the Moscone Center where GDC is held. The event will take place on Thursday, 20th March 2014 running from 18:30 to 22:30 PDT.
VRFocus is one of four media partners for the mixer, the others being Road To VR, Mean To Be Seen 3D and VRLA. Sponsors include Janut, I’m In VR, Condition One, Virtuix Omni, Tectical Haptics, Leap Motion, GameFace and Sixense. It will be held at 50 Mason Social House and developers are encouraged to bring along their own VR demos to show off. On-site catering will be available along with a selection of beer and wine.
SVVR and SFVR are two of the biggest developer groups working in VR. Both host regular meet up events at their respective locations with over a dozen taking place in the last year. Their combined efforts will undoubtedly make for a strong VR showing. VRFocus was lucky enough to attend an SVVR meet up earlier in the year.
Entrance to the Mixer is permitted by RSVP only. VRFocus will be following it up with a full round of coverage including pictures and more.
