Hella Games has announced that its upcoming multiplayer title, The Survival Games, has launched a Steam Greenlight campaign. The title, which features support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset, hopes to earn a spot on Valve’s digital storefront with the aid of votes from the community.
The Survival Games is a first-person action title that takes inspiration from The Hunger Games novels and films. Players are dropped into an arena and must play a game of last man standing whilst crafting items and hunting for food. Temporary alliances can be formed and the title even has a dynamic events system in which a map-changing event will occur.
A Kickstarter campaign for the title is currently ongoing, with the developers hoping to raise $20,000 USD by 18th April 2014. Should the campaign prove to be successful then we can expect to see The Survival Games launching in January 2015. Until then, VRFocus will keep you up to date with the project and its development.
