Little Green Men Games’ Starpoint Gemini 2 has officially entered the Beta phase of development. The space simulation sequel, which supports virtual reality (VR) through use of the Oculus Rift VR headset, can now be picked up via Steam’s Early Access program with a host of new features. This includes new customisation options, revamped camera mechanics and much more.
Headlining the updates is the addition of Wormholes. These can be used for one-way, instantaneous travelling, although they may also cause damage to your ship or worse. A new T-Drive unit can also be added to your ship for another means of instant travel.
The update also allows players to choose a class at the start of the experience, as well as adding in new music tracks and sound effects. Furthermore, the team has balanced out some of the title’s systems and equipment pricing, as well as added a new shaky camera to enhance the action. Finally, the update claims to bring much faster loading to the title.
Starpoint Gemini 2 can currently be picked up on Steam via Early Access. It’s not clear just when the title will receive a full launch. VRFocus will continue to follow its development and report back with all the latest.
