Spirited Away VR Demo Now Available on Linux and Mac, Controls Updated
Indie developer Nick Pittom has updated his popular virtual reality (VR) demo of the boiler room scene from Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away. The experience, which lets users touch the setting in first-person with an Oculus Rift VR headset, can now be downloaded on both Linux and Mac on top of the already-existing Windows version.
As Pittom stated on his Twitter account, the controls for the title have also been improved, and the performance has been optimised.
This won’t be the last we see of Pittom for sure, as the developer has already announced that he will be recreating the bus stop scene from My Neighbor Totoro. It’s a project he’d previously told VRFocus that he’d like to create during a Q&A. Pittom has also set up a new website with a new name of Fire Panda, with more to come.
VRFocus will continue to follow Pittom’s work and report back with all the latest.
