It’s been rumoured that Sony will be revealing its PlayStation 4 virtual reality (VR) headset this week at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. While the company is yet to confirm these rumours themselves, other sources continue to leak alleged info ahead of the PS4 reveal.
One such source is Hip Hop Gamer, who claimed to have new information on the device during the latest edition of his Youtube show. While he was quick to note that these were simply rumours he’d heard, he suggested that the headset will allow games to run in both 720p and 1080p. It was also said that the headset would be wireless, unlike the current version of the Oculus Rift VR headset.
Finally, games were addressed. According to the presenter’s sources, games are ready and running on the device and will be revealed at GDC. It’s thought that Sony will announce the headset during its Driving the Future of Innovation at Sony Computer Entertainment presentation on 18th March 2014. VRFocus is at GDC ready and waiting to report on all the latest from the event.
