Neil Druckmann, Creative Director at Naughty Dog and one of the minds behind The Last Of Us, has made mention of the Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset for the PlayStation 4. While not confirming that the team was working with the tech, Druckmann did reveal that he had been ‘brainstorming’ ideas with colleague Bruce Straley, albiet in a casual fashion.
“Spent downtime at the airport brainstorming #ProjectMorpheus ideas with @bruce_straley,” Druckmann wrote on Twitter. “Conclusion, you can make the ultimate horror game.”
It’s a little early to take this as confirmation that the pair’s next project will be compatible with Project Morpheus. However, it’s not the first time that they have said their ‘brainstorming’ ideas for future projects and it’s more than possible that the headset becomes a part of those plans. As for the idea of a horror title, Naughty Dog is already well versed in the genre with The Last Of Us.
Earlier today, an alleged leak on Project Morpheus suggested that a The Last Of Us project of some kind was in the works for Project Morpheus. This seems to suggest that, if true, then the pair isn’t directly involved with it. VRFocus will continue to follow the development of Project Morpheus and deliver any more news.
