Narcosis developer Damien Dreveau has revealed that he and his team are in discussions with Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) to bring the title to PlayStation 4. Speaking to VRFocus at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) this week, Dreveau confirmed that the team was at the event to talk to SCE about a possible port. Narcosis is currently in development for PC using the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.
“That’s actually why we’re here,” Dreveau said when asked about a PS4 port, possibly supporting SCE’s recently-announced Project Morpheus VR headset. “We need to discuss with Sony what they can do for us with a dev kit for the PS4. So we’re in discussions but, yeah, we’d like to see it happen.”
Narcosis is an underwater survival horror title developed using the Unity Engine. Having survived a catastrophic accident, players have to survive long enough to reach air before their oxygen runs out. It started development as a student project at the French videogame school ENJMIN and has since moved into a full title. VRFocus will be bringing a full interview with Dreveau shortly.
