Indie developer Hidden Treasure Games has released a tech demo of its upcoming virtual reality (VR) videogame Moved By Darkness onto the Oculus VR Share Beta. The title, which features support for the Oculus Rift VR headset, is a first-person psychological experience reminiscent of vintage horror movies. It’s a mix of both first-person shooting and point and click adventure titles.
Moved By Darkness is set in an abandoned hotel. It combines themes of horror, mental illness and the paranormal with a black and white visual style. The recently-posted demo is said to be a very early version of the title that is missing some features such as the point and click mechanics when playing with the Oculus Rift.
Hidden Treasure Games has released the demo to give players access to the experience as it grows. It can be downloaded free of charge. Currently the developer is working on the story including scripts for actors as well as building a team to help carry the workload. Right now the demo is available through Windows only, with no word on Mac or Linux versions.
Moved By Darkness is aiming for a release on 13th August 2015. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and bring you all the latest.
