Monstrum, an upcoming first-person horror experience, has passed its Steam Greenlight campaign. Team Junkfish’s virtual reality (VR) supported videogame was listed on Valve’s digital storefront just over a week ago on 25th February 2014. Monstrum will launch with Oculus Rift support.
“We want to thank each and everyone of you that voted for us and shared the game,” the team wrote on its official Steam page. “We’re currently finishing off our alpha build, so we will hopefully have some more things to show by the end of March.”
Monstrum puts players on an abandoned ship and tasks them with escaping. As they search for a way out a deadly beast hunts them. Players must run, hide and avoid environmental hazards in order to survive.
Team Junkfish is aiming for a Q3 2014 release with Monstrum. It will also be showing off the title at this month’s Game Developers Conference and EGX Rezzed. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with the latest.
