Update: This article has been edited due to an error naming Flavio Parenti as Loading Human’s writer. This was inaccurate; Riccardo Boccuzzi is the writer, Parenti is the producer. VRFocus would like to apologise for the mix up.
Last month indie developer Untold Games announced Loading Human, a story-driven first-person experience that uses the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset. Italian actor and filmmaker Flavio Parenti worked as a producer on the title in which an Alzheimer’s patient relives past memories in order to store them to a digital brain and reunite with his wife. VRFocus recently had the chance to sit down with Parenti to talk about the project.
In the interview above Parenti walks us through the title’s premise and how it will be played. He also discusses the benefits of using virtual reality to tell a story and how it affects our relationship with characters. Loading Human is aiming for a release later in the year for PC and Mac. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with all the latest.
