Untold Games’ Loading Human has picked up two awards at the Game Connection’s Selected Projects competition. The virtual reality (VR) experience won both the best project in the Console & PC Hardcore category as well as the best project overall. The other two categories for best Handheld Tablet project and Social, Casual and Online project were won by Last Inua and Hordemaster respectively.
The studio’s Elisa di Lorenzo spoke to Develop about the win, saying “We’re really excited about this – we weren’t expecting it. It’s cool because we know we have a game that’s really experimental, and this shows that the industry is looking for that. We’re looking forward to what’s going to happen next.”
Loading Human is a narrative-driven first-person experience that uses both the Oculus Rift VR headset and Razer Hydra motion controllers. Players control an Alzhimer’s sufferer that must piece together past memories in order to restore them on a digital brain.
Loading Human is aiming for a release later in the year for PC and Mac. VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with all the latest.
