Sony has announced that CCP’s EVE: Valkyrie is coming to its PlayStation 4 console with support for the newly-announced Project Morpheus virtual reality (VR) headset. The title had previously been billed as only available on the Oculus Rift VR headset and is to be co-published by Oculus VR on PC.
CCP has since clarified its position to Polygon. “We partnered with Oculus VR to bring EVE: Valkyrie exclusively to the Oculus Rift on PC and we are thrilled to be working with Sony to bring EVE: Valkyrie to the PS4 with Project Morpheus,” a CCP spokesperson told the outlet. EVE: Valkyrie is a multiplayer space dogfighting title set in the EVE Online universe.
No other details were announced during the conference about when we might see the title. EVE: Valkyrie is expect to be a launch title for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift – could it possibly do the same for Project Morpheus? VRFocus will continue to follow the title’s development and report back with all the latest.
