PrioVR, the motion tracking suit from YEI Technology, has reached its first Kickstarter stretch goal. As a result, multiplayer options will now be added into the suits demo titles, Zombie Survivor and Copycat. It was also confirmed that the tech will be on display at the South By South West (SXSW) festival in America next month.
This first stretch goal for the virtual reality (VR) compatible device was set at $185,000 USD. The initial funding goal of $75,000 was reached last week and it hasn’t taken much longer for backers to provide the extra $110,000. At the time of writing, YEI Technology has not announced any other stretch goals, although it’s sure to do so in time.
SXSW 2014 will be held on 7 – 9 March at the Palmer Events Center in Austin, Texas. PrioVR will be just one of a number of VR focussed products at the show. Yesterday we heard that visual effects studio Framestore would be showing off a project using the Oculus Rift VR headset at the event. VRFocus will bring you all the latest from the event.
