Developer White Paper Games has confirmed that it is returning to the EGX Rezzed PC expo with its first-person experience, Ether One. The announcement was made via the EGX Rezzed Twitter account, which also suggested that the team would be bringing along an Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset for demoing with the title. White Paper Games did not confirm if this would be the case.
“Two indie games added to the show floor! Ether One by @WhitePaperGames & Containment Protocol from @xiotex,” the EGX Rezzed account posted. It later teased that “We’ve heard a rumour that @WhitePaperGames will be bringing an Oculus Rift with them too…”
Ether One is a narrative-driven adventure in which players assume the role of a Restorer, someone that is sent into the minds of mentally handicapped humans in an attempt to repair them. The game is set in the mind of a client named Jean, where players will solve puzzles and uncover secrets in order to restore her memories.
Ether One won’t be the only Oculus Rift-compatible title on display at the expo, which takes place on 28 – 30 March 2014 at the NEC in Birmingham. Team JunkFish will also be showing off its first-person horror experience, Monstrum. VRFocus will be on the ground at the event to bring you all the latest on these titles and more.
