CCP Games, the developer behind the hugely popular space MMO EVE Online, has announced that it will reveal a new build of its EVE: Valkyrie dogfighting title at its EVE Fanfest event in Reykjavik, Iceland. Held on 1 – 3 May 2014, attendees will get the chance to go hands-on with the title, which will launch exclusively on the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) headset.
EVE: Valkyrie puts players into the cockpit of one of the many spaceships from the EVE universe and pits them in multiplayer dogfights. CCP has also promised to reveal new details about the title to go along with the hands-on. It’s one of the first titles to be confirmed as a launch exclusive experience for the Oculus Rift.
Held annually, EVE Fanfest hosts more than 1,000 fans of both the original MMO and the PlayStation 3 first-person shooter, Dust 514. It’s set to detail new updates on both of those titles as well as hold a number of fan events. 2014 marks its tenth year.
EVE: Valkyrie was announced in August 2013, making this its first visit to the Fanfest. VRFocus will continue to bring the latest on the game as it happens.
